The roots of Mariachi Tierra Linda run deep all the way to Jalisco the birthplace of Mariachi music. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México Leticia Elias the director of Mariachi Tierra Linda began her incredible journey as the co-founder of México's Premier All-Female Mariachi Las Perlitas Tapatias. Together with her sisters, Alma Rocio, Maria de Lourdes, Rosa Nohemi and her cousin Myriam Estrella, Leticia formed Mariachi Las Perlitas Tapatias in her home state of Jalisco in 1989. The group became an instant success and began touring internationally in 1991. Mariachi Las Perlitas Tapatias’ US tours included appearances in prestigious venues such as the Hollywood Bowl - Los Angeles, CA The Theatre for the Performing Arts of the Aladdin Hotel & Casino - Las Vegas, NV The Universal Amphitheater - Universal City, CA, UIC Pavilion - Chicago, IL and the Lincoln Center in New York City among others. With Mariachi Las Perlitas Tapatias, Leticia Elias shared the stage with true mariachi royalty, such as Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández, Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano, Mariachi de América de Jesús Rodríguez de Híjar, Mariachi Cobre, Mariachi Los Galleros de Pedro Rey and many more.
Phoenix based Mariachi Tierra Linda embodies the same musical excellence that is part of the rich mariachi pedigree of its director Leticia Elias. Most recently Mariachi Tierra Linda has been invited to perform on the most popular local television programs including 12 News and Fox 10. They have accompanied local rock legend Roger Clyne of Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers and they have performed at prestigious Valley locations such as the Camelback Inn and US Airways Center.
